The Chicago River is one of the world’s great ur The Chicago River is one of the world’s great urban rooms. It simply takes your breath away. While the quality of the architecture along the way is uneven, it doesn’t diminish the power of the space it defines. The Chicago river walk (begun in 2001 and continues through the present), designed by @sasakidesign and @r_barc is one of those tactical urbanist triumphs that changed the role of the river in the daily lives of Chicagoans. It created new pedestrian paths and public spaces to linger, connect with the river, and admire the city.
